Aisleigh is a Cornwall based artist whose work is a deeply intuitive relationship with the landscape. Through expressive mark-making, she captures not just a place, but its essence - a fleeting moment, a feeling. Growing up in South Devon, she was always drawn to the outdoors, finding inspiration in the ever-changing landscape.
Working with mixed media, Aisleigh begins her experimenting en plein air, in the wild beauty of Cornwall’s rugged coastlines. She immerses herself in the landscape before developing her work further in the studio. Each painting unfolds organically through an energetic and tactile process. Colour plays a vital role, chosen deliberately to convey emotion and mood, creating immersive and resonant pieces.
A lifelong creative, Aisleigh’s journey began in a different medium - chocolate. With a 14-year career as a chocolatier, she mastered techniques of layering, colour application, texture, and intricate design, which continue to influence her tactile approach to painting today. She has developed her own self-taught practice, embracing experimentation and intuition.
Rooted in her relationship with the natural world, Aisleigh’s work reflects the land as a living presence - one that holds memory, offers solace, and invites connection. Cornwall’s landscape has been a source of healing for her, particularly during periods of anxiety, and this restorative quality sits at the heart of her work. Through her paintings, she invites viewers to pause, breathe, and reconnect — with nature, with emotion, and with themselves.
