"I started painting abstracts about twelve years ago because I love colour end enjoy using materials in an unplanned way. Painting has always been my passion from school days to now. I am always looking at the world through my artists lens always fascinated by the influence of light on objects around me" Leyla Murr
Practiced in life drawing and portraiture, Leyla has been encouraged by her private tutor and friend, who was a successful art professional in Ireland. The practice of painting is both useful and enjoyable for Leyla.
Aware of the impact of the visual on the brain, Leyla’s work subconsciously extends an invitation to others to share or to find something in her original paintings that makes an impression to which they can respond.Leyla’s use of colour and form is an expression of her idealistic side, a place where a pleasing balance is derived from an unexpected happy accident. On the surface this may seem childish and unsophisticated, but Leyla feels that creativity lives in that happy place, and life and growth are born there.
“My art doesn’t reflect the reality but instead offers a meeting point or a sanctuary to those who can share, viewers who are happy to find a meaning they thought they had lost. I hope that this meaning will be a source of pleasure, motivation or a shift in the emotional values that can later have positive impact on their lives” Leyla Murr
