"One of the things I do when I’m driving to a specific location to paint, is to be constantly on the lookout for a surprise moment, a place that catches me off-guard and demands a second look. This piece is from one of ‘those’ moments. I took a detour following a hunch and as I looked out through the car window I could see the clifftops sitting boldly against the horizon in the distance. I pulled over. Awestruck. I looked across towards these clifftops and the sea below. I chose to focus on two particular clifftops and capture their stature as they sit somewhere inky dark between sea and sky." Alex Yarlett
